After twenty years of providing aboveground and underground storage tank conferences, the National Institute for Storage Tank Management (NISTM) will be managing the First Annual Houston Conference on Aboveground Storage Tank Management. The NISTM Houston Conference is an excellent opportunity to hear industry and regulatory experts presenting the most recent information about topics that are essential to managing aboveground storage tank systems. Although the meeting focus will be on larger field-erected aboveground tanks, some attention will be given to smaller shop-fabricated aboveground storage tank systems.
The topics will include, but not be limited to an update on the SPCC requirements, a look at the latest on standards and issues with shop-fabricated ASTs, internal floating roofs and emissions controls, the Florida Leak Autopsy Study, Hurricane Ike response, hurricane preparedness plans, an API Standards update, safety and other tank and piping construction and environmental topics and much more. A panel discussion also is planned for the end of the conference. The conference will have an interesting mix of regulators, owners, consultants, and equipment manufacturers, and will provide an excellent forum for networking and the exchange of information.
